    The mul­tiple lives of Sophie La Rosière

    A work­shop with art stu­dents from the Ecole Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne

    Villa Vassilieff has invited art pro­fes­sionals and stu­dents of the Arts European School of Bretagne - Lorient to par­tic­i­pate in a work­shop led by Iris Häussler and Catherine Sicot. Students will explore fic­tion as a method­ology and be invited to expand on Sophie La Rosière’s biog­raphy.

    Thursday May 12
    “Dîner de Têtes”

    A com­po­nent of the Sophie La Rosière pro­ject will be staged and filmed at Villa Vassilieff on May 12th. A « Dîner de Têtes » gath­ering French par­tic­i­pants and col­lab­o­ra­tors to date will give shape to an his­tor­ical and artistic dis­cus­sion while cel­e­brating the impor­tance of social rela­tions in the devel­op­ment of the pro­ject. The con­ver­sa­tions will serve as a part for Iris Häussler’s video instal­la­tion in her upcoming shows of Sophie La Rosière in Toronto.

    Iris Häussler, pro­ject cura­tors Catherine Sicot and Philip Monk and their guests will con­tribute to the inter­na­tional sem­inar D’autres gestes : usages des pat­ri­moines #2 with a con­ver­sa­tion addressing fic­tion as a tool for inves­ti­ga­tion.
